Dry Riser Systems

Dry Risers are pipework systems which are designed to supply water to various outlet points around the building and on different floors in the event of a fire

The Fire service connect their appliance to the inlet which is usually at street level and water is then pumped through the dry risers to the various outlets to fight fires.

In a dry riser system the pipe is usually charged with air when not in use whereas some situations require that the pipework is pre-charged with water and these are called a wet riser systems
